"Good Practises project at the Luís Seoane School".

We understand good practices as those experiences that favor:-Improving coexistence.-Increased responsability.-Search for personal autonomy.-The satisfaction of doing something for others-Foundational learning based on the experiencies of others.-Personal development.

What´s Good Practices?

Let´s do it!

  • Sensitive teachers to improve school coexistence.
  • Unstructured patio.
  • Playground monopoly.
  • There´re no different game options.
  • Little knowledge of the basic rules of school coexistence.
  • Numerous conflicts during recess that were transferred to the classrooms.
  • There were numerous students who did not play.
  • There was a very dirty playground after recess.

School year 14/15:

A little history:

http://www.zamakolaeskola.com/

The first steps...

Teaching staff was sought to offer their encouragement to work from 'scratch' with 6th graders and try to act during recess from different areas.

We "recruit" teachers

"It begins to form the first groups like the Relaxers, The Woodlanders, The Gamers, and the Librarygoers."

We form groups:

We were looking for schools where they would develop actions to improve coexistence, and we found: .

Look for good references:

The students were willing to work voluntarily.

The Management Team should support these actions..

The good will was not enough.

The first performances were not scheduled.

The teachers did not have a reference to rely on.

The search for time is always very difficult in schools.

We observe that...

Being part of the decision-making process in the organization of the center.

That it had permanence and durability over time.

Contextualize it, place it within a specific plan. Have a theoretical framework that supports us.

That it became part of the school's organization.

We started working within the training of these groups, but we wanted something more:

Performances

Principles

Definition of school coexistence

Our legislative framework exists.!!!!!

Coexistence Plan developed during the academic year 15/16, which acknowledges the existence of a BP project that will carry out actions related to preventing instances of school bullying, non-discrimination against individuals of different nationalities, religions, or backgrounds, promoting a healthy and wholesome environment in the relationships among community members...

Our Coexistence Plan

Mediation document approved by the Claustro and informed to the School Council.

Document that gathers the Good Practices Project to annex it to our Coexistence Plan approved by the Teaching Meeting and informed to the School Council.

This theoretical framework drove the creation of two key documents for us:

Training

Something very important...

A school where children participate actively.

A school that respects diversity.

A school that promotes coexistence for EVERYONE and BY EVERYONE..

A school where relationships among peers and among all members of the school community are fostered

What do we intend to achieve??

A more dynamic, participatory, and inclusive school.

A Musical Choir: Team that educates our ears during school commemorations

Team of Polos: Organizes and dynamizes digital activities.

Library Team: Organizes and enlivens the library.

Forest Team: They spread awareness campaigns. They promote recycling. They ensure the care of nature.

Team of Greeters: They Greet us every morning. They organize and guide the ascents to the classrooms. They celebrate birthdays and important dates..

Welcome Team: Welcomes newly arrived students. Teaches relaxation techniques, mediation, and self-mediation at school. Ensures compliance with school rules.

Games Team: Organizes and enlivens the playground.

These teams are our pride!

The satisfaction or fulfillment of doing something for the community.

Assertive communication.

A session per week, each group meets with the teacher who supervises them..

The collaborations are done during the breaks.

"We work with students in 5th and 6th grade:

They participate voluntarily in the group they choose.

Empathy

The consequences of our actions in terms of personal, intrapersonal, and interpersonal aspects.

Group work and commitment.

The emphasis is placed on::

  1. We have an active school, with a lot of movement. With 90% of participation from 5th and 6th-grade students. The coexistence during breaks is very positive. This led to other projects, such as Mediation. Our motivation has increased and the willingness to do things.

Is all of this worth it?
