Ángel Moran

Salvador Dalí

His art is based in surrealism, and by his line you can see the drawings are handmade, but don't have much out of place lines. They also have little value, since the drawings are abstract but also realistic in terms of line and shadowing.

Salvador Dalí was born in 1904 in spain, Dalís career spanned over six decades, with his most influential period being in the early 20th, he was originally from barcelona, but moved to madrid and started to create huis own style while studying in the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. This abstract drawing not many understand is exploring the theme of dreams, the subconscious, also related to spirituality and religion. Some interesting facts about his would be that his art did not stop in paintings and drawings, he was also involved in sculpture, filmmaking and photography.

TIM BURTON

This famous film director is known from his clay animation films and working with Johnny Deep, but in order to make his films and have that essence present in all his films, he goes to a creative process started by his drawings. The most interesting thing about his art is the surrealism his characters have, and the line in which he makes his drafts, in a chaotic and irregular way, he also includes value in the sense that he adds many shadows everywere. Tim Burton's career began in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He first was noticed with his work as an animator, director, and writer at Disney, he later made his first known movie ''Beetlejuice” in 1988 and started his career as a famous film director. he's creative process happened in california were the film industry is, but he also goes to various countries in order to shoot movies. The themes Tim Burton most explores are outcasts and different people, all his movies are about a character that is out of touch with his surroundings and doesnt fit in, as well as most of his films being focused on life after death. As an example in corpse bride the living are bad people who shouldn't be trusted, meanwhile the dead are scarier, but are actually good people, this is a metaphor to life, and how the best people might seem “normal” and the scary looking weird people are actually the best.

DAN MILLER

This artist's drawings are noticeable by the contrast he uses, from jet black to complete white, and no other color, also uses value and very dark shadows. While the drawings are very realistic, you can also see the line and how it's drawn by hand. From this group of artists Dan is the most recent, starting his career in the early 00s and continuing exhibiting new work since then.

Miller works primarily in Oakland, California, at the Creative Growth Art Center. Miller often overlays letters and words until they transform into dense, layered drawings that transcend their original meaning to become abstract expressions.

Kurt is known for being the lead in Nirvana and a famous singer until he killed himself. Since he was a kid he liked drawing characters on tv. Later on he displayed his art in comics he kept in private and were later on published from his diaries, he even drawed the picture of his album incesticide. His art used line, making the drawings look like they were drawn by hand, also using value in his shadowing and dark colors as contrast. In his album cover you can also see distortion and abstraction. His art spaces were private, such as homes, hotel rooms or places where he was alone, same as his music he got his ideas and inspiration on his own rather than a music or art studio. The themes his art was about are his struggle with fame, depression and also a comment on society in his comics by drawing grotesque and weird figures with no proportions or sense.
