an eTwinning project presentation
Bookfest 2024 is a bilateral transdisciplinary project implemented by two eTwinning high schools: Liceul Teoretic “Radu Vlădescu” Pătârlagele (Romania) and Liceul Teoretic “Mihai Eminescu”, Florești (The Republic of Moldova) in order to meet the educational and personal development needs of their school communities in the 2023-2024 school year.
Project aims
- to identify, share and integrate knowledge, skills, innovative teaching, learning and assessment techniques transgressing disciplinary practice in order to improve the key competences of the participating pupils and students as well as their digital literacy, critical thinking, problem-solving skills and creativity; - to promote pupils as agents of change and both school communities as inclusive and innovative learning organisations as well as their values following the eTwinning School Mission: the commitment to shared leadership, collaboration, sharing and team work.
Expected results
Bookfest 2024 aimed at capitalizing on the added value of transnational cooperation and the advantages generated by constructive competition, based on progress and self-improvement, meant to promote the benefits of reading within the two school communities. Through collaborative activities, digital creativity workshops and transnational contests, at least 100 project participants were expected to improve their key competences for lifelong learning as well as their transversal skills of autonomy and responsibility, social interaction, self-confidence, and 21st century skills, especially their emotional intelligence.

Bookfest 2024 - Lessons learned by the teachers
Transdisciplinarity encourages the development of critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
eTwinning partnerships promote intercultural competence.
Through both cooperation and competition, the project participants assessed their individual progress, evaluated the outcomes, and identified areas for improvement and continuous learning.
Being a member of this project team facilitated the improvement of socio-emotional skills such as empathy, tolerance, and teamwork.
Both the students and the teachers developed their digital literacy, becoming more confident with using technology for learning, teaching and creativity.
Reading is not only enjoyable and inspirational, it also has the potential to change attitudes and behaviours.
Thank you for watching!
