Unfortunately at my current school I have noticed a pattern of our assistant principal of student behaviors faling to address incidents of student bullying or extreme student behavior reported by the teachers. Often times she takes them on a wuick 2 minute walk or discussion and returns them straight to class with no follow-up, reprecussions, or even documentation. This is creating an enviornment where teachers do not feel supported and an unsafe school culture altogether. Allowing such behaviors to persist contradicts the intended school culture of respect, empathy, and inclusivity.

Vision: To be the CHOICE in tuition free charter schools.Mission: To serve the greater Riverview community and offer kindergarten through fifth grade a rigorous and comprehensive curriculum with an emphasis on excellence in math and science.

The council empowers students to take on leadership roles, make decisions about school events and initiatives, and serve as ambassadors for their peers. Involving students in decision-making fosters a culture of student voice and engagement.
    • Cultural Awareness Events: Students organizing cultural awareness events and activities align with PSEL standard 8. Such events celebrate diversity, promote cultural understanding and acceptance, and creates opportunities for students to learn about different cultures and perspectives. This fosters an inclusive and respectful school environment contributing to a positive school culture.
    • Service Learning Projects: When students are engaged in service learning projects it aligns with PSEL standard 9. Such projects involve students in hands-on, meaningful activities that address real-world problems and needs in their community. This promotes civic responsibility, empathy, and teamwork all while providing students opportunities to apply academic skills in authentic contexts.
