Example- Journal Entry

Dear Journal,On the second day of my trip, I visited Chichen Itza in Mexico. It was a long drive from the hotel in Cancun. When we arrived, there were many other tourists groups- so many people! When we walked into the open space I felt astounded by the size and complexity of the ruins. The tour guide brought us to the center to see the great pyramid El Castillo. It is 98 ft tall and has 91 steps to the top. I learned that the Maya were really into math. The temple served the deity Kukulcan, which is like a serpent god, so that is why there are snakes going down the stairs. I also learned if you clap around the temple it sounds like quetzal bird. I walked around the complex and saw many vendors selling toys and cool items. I even bought a jaguar whistle. I loved my visit to this Mayan archaeological site. Can't wait until tomorrow. Example- Landmark

During my trip, I visited Chichen Itza in Mexico. I saw the great pyramid El Castillo at the center of this great Mayan site. It is 98 ft tall and has 91 steps to reach the top. The temple served the deity Kukulcan and has serpents that down the stairs. I crafted this landmark out of cardboard and hot glue.
