Climate change

Paris Agreement

Since its adoption, the Paris Agreement has been ratified by the majority of the world’s countries, reflecting a strong global commitment to addressing climate change. However, it has also faced challenges, such as the need to increase the ambition of climate goals and ensure the effective implementation of the commitments made. A current international environmental project that is in place is the Paris Agreement. The Paris Agreement is a treaty adopted in December 2015 during COP21 (Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) in Paris, France. This agreement represents a significant milestone in the fight against climate change and has as its main objective to keep global warming below 2°C, and if possible, below 1.5°C compared to pre-industrial levels.

1. Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs): Signatory countries commit to establishing and communicating their national contributions to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and address climate change.

2. Transparency and Accountability: The agreement establishes an enhanced transparency framework for reporting and reviewing each country’s efforts in relation to its climate commitments.l

4. Review and Improvement Mechanisms: The Paris Agreement establishes a global review cycle that requires countries to review and increase their climate commitments on a regular basis to ensure they are moving in the right direction.

Beneficiaries. The inhabitants of the nations that participate.

3. Climate Finance: The need to mobilize funds to help developing countries address climate change and transition to a low-carbon and climate-resilient economy is recognized.
