Make use of support resources

Engage in extracurricular activities at places like the REC center and try to maintain a balance between academic and personal life.

Take written notes during class and pay attentions to all the details the professors cover.

Know the due dates and do not miss classes unless it's required.

Meet up with acadmic advisors and make connections with seniors as they can be helpful in guiding.

Plan out a schedule which includes study time as well as time for yourself.

What is it?

- An event that would help First Year Students know their campus better and interact with others and hopefully work on the beginnings of new bonds!- The event would mainly contain fun activities held on- campus that would act as a guide to new students to know their surroundings better and explore the different places within the YSU campus.

LOCATIONS:

  1. College buildings (Debartolo Hall, Moser Hall, Williamson Hall, etc.)
  2. Kilcawley center
  3. Maag library
..... and other buildings that are important for new students.

  • Make creative pamphlets and post information on social media sites as well as mail the information to student mail ids.
  • Include prizes such as YSU merch, candies, stationery supplies to encourage participants as well as provide first year students with some basic resources.

  • For staff, student tutors within the team or anyone who is willing to participate could be given roles in the academic buildings.
  • Orientation leaders would be following students during missions, just in case someone faces difficulties in directions.
