Choisir une oeuvre d'art ou une thématique

Tu peux choisir une oeuvre d'art (par ex. la BD en 2 tomes Madeleine Résistante) ou une thématique : l'autobiographie (alliant français, histoire et HDA), ou bien la thématique en histoire et HDA : femmes résistantes, pionnières et engagées en BD.

Il est possible de prendre un objet d'étude abordé dans une classe précédente ou choisi par vous librement. Mais il convient alors de demander à l'enseignant le plus proche du contenu choisi (ce peut être le ou la professeur.e de français, d'histoire, d'éducation musicale ou d'arts plastiques, ce peut être votre professeur principal) de valider votre choix. Il faut en effet que l'objet d'étude ne soit pas considéré comme mineur ou trop peu intéressant ou au contraire trop complexe pour le jury auquel vous serez soumis.e.

Etudier une oeuvre d'art nécessite de mobiliser sa sensibilité : pourquoi cette oeuvre m'intéresse et m'interpelle, mais aussi quels sentiments et quelles réflexions elle nourrit en moi. Sentimesnts et réflexions peuvent être variés et évoluer dans le temps, avec la connaissance et l'étude approfondie de l'oeuvre. C'est une relation intime que je dois restituer au jury

Au collège, en troisième, tu peux accompagner ton exposé oral d'un court diaporama, d'une maquette ou oeuvre d'art réalisée par toi ou de l'objet d'étude apporté si c'est une affiche, un livre ou une BD.

Etape 1 - situer l'oeuvre

Titre, genre et date de l'oeuvre, éditeur, producteur ou lieu d'exposition.Nom et biographie rapide de l'artisteContexte historique (époque) et esthétique (mouvement culturel et artistique)

Etape 2- analyser

Description globale avec 4 approches : technique, formelle, thématique (et sens), réception et usages, dont influences et héritages. Description détaillée : composition, motifs, couleurs, lumière, décors, personnages...

Importante, être précis, à soigner

Etape 3 interpréter

Bien dégager la signification de l'oeuvre (son intention ou son message) : intention de l'artiste, effets produitsComparer avec des oeuvres proches ou contemporaines (qui tiennent le même propos ou un propos opposé)

interpréter l'oeuvre, donner du sens

Pour la biographie, en rester à l'essentiel pour mieux comprendre son oeuvre (marié, on s'en fiche, mais contemporain de son sujet non)

Bien travailler, connaître son sujet : genre de l'oeuvre, techniques de création et qualités de l'artiste, influences et formation de l'auteur. Si l'oeuvre a été largement diffusée, primée, exposée ou au contraire interdite... Sa réception peut changer. Ex. les tableaux d'Otto Dix ont d'abord été critiqués avant de se retrouver dans tous les manuels d'histoire de collège... Ex. Aujourd'hui, Créon dans Antigone est davantage apprécié que lors de la création de l'oeuvre d'Anouilh lorsque la France était occupée

Attention, cette partie est également centrale. Ne pas faire de contre-sens ou être superficiel.le (échanger avec son professeur en amont de l'oral). Lier à d'autres oeuvres d'autres domaines (cinéma, littérature, poésie etc.) c'est montrer que l'on dispose d'une culture artistique. Le jury peut vous poser quelques questions dans ce sens, surtout si une oeuvre proche a été étudiée dans un autre cours !

Il est librement inspiré de « La Troisième Vague », une étude expérimentale sur un régime autocratique, menée par le professeur d'histoire Ron Jones avec des élèves de première de l'école Cubberley à Palo Alto (Californie) durant la première semaine d'avril 1967.

contexte

Le malaise qui prédominait à la fin de l'expérience californienne des années 1960 (Ron Jones décrit la troisième vague comme "l’un des événements les plus effrayants que j’ai jamais vécu dans une salle de classe") a conduit à conserver une grande pudeur sur l’expérience. Restée confidentielle jusqu'en 1976, elle aura mené à l'écriture du livre La vague de Todd Strasser, qui aura inspiré le film de Dennis Gansel.
