My school has a story to tell

In 1943, a group of old Salesian students decided to form an Association and in 1947 they brought an image of Maria Auxiliadora to Úbeda to be venerated in the Church of San Pedro. The Board of Directors of the Association of Former Students, with the approval of the City Council and the Bishop, took steps to have a Salesian School in the city.

The presence of the Salesians in Úbeda dates back to 1957 and has former students, who were educated in different Salesian schools, as promoters and protagonists. They took the initiative a few years after the Spanish Civil War had finished. The school began its activity on October 21, 1957. The Salesian presence, from its beginnings, was characterized by providing an educational service aimed at children and young people from popular classes. The dream that the little Juan Bosco had in his native Italy had reached our city.

In the early days, the College had a boarding school and a day school. The boarding school welcomed students from different towns to study. Some of them were sent by the educational administrations. The relationship between boarders and day students fostered a social mix, always educational and integrative. The boarding school ended a few years before the remodeling of the north zone of Úbeda and the new location of the school

We love theatre and there have been many musicals performed by students and teachers at our school. We can highlight 2015, when the school celebrated its 58th anniversary with a serie of cultural, sporting and religious activities, including a performance of the play "Don Bosco, the Musical". But we cannot forget our wonderful "Peter Pan", “Otra Forma de Mirar..” ("Another way of looking") ....or "King Lion"

2019 - 2023

In 2019, the school was awarded the "eTwinning School" quality label, which recognises collaborative work and the use of technology in education. The school participated in several eTwinning projects with other schools in Europe and Latin America. And in 2023 we were awarded again for the projects developed by the school community during the year 2022

And in 2017, our school presented its new initiative Don Bosco Theatre 'Factory of Dreams'. It consists of making the centre's stage space available to anyone who wants or needs it, so that it can be used not only by the school as a stage for its own or related activities, but also by the whole city.

On 17th of March, 2021 our first experience in our radio station OndAlegre starts. Our school is beginning a new project, a project that recovers the old radio station, Radio Atalaya. Today technology allows us to know and listen to our students and their stories from very different places.
