TRADITIONS OF BRAZIL
It is located in South America. Its population is 214’3 million people. In Brazil people speak Portuguese a variety of the Portuguese language from Portugal. Talking about the big and main cities in Brazil are: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Brasilia and Puerto de Santos.
Rio de Janeiro
Puerto de Santos
New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are on the same date as in Spain. In Brazil the tradition is to wear white clothes and jump over seven waves in the water. In each wave you ask for one wish for the beginning of the year.
- Sugar candy
- Fortune cookies
In some regions, heart sympathy is performed, where people write their wishes on a heart-shaped piece of paper and place it in a small boat made of paper or wood that is allowed to sail down the river so that the wishes reach the sea and come true.
Flowers in the sea
• Talking about the flag. Its green color represents the forest, yellow due to the abundance of gold and finally blue that represents the sky of the city of Rio de Janeiro at night, but it also symbolizes the planet Earth
Samba and football
• Brazilians say that from a very young age it is established that boys play soccer and on the contrary girls are the ones who dance samba.
In conclusion, Brazil is a country with a lot of fun traditions. It is a country where I would definitely go on vacation.
