Around week 5 your baby's brain, spinal cord, and heart begin to develop. This is in the embryonic stage.
What is a dominant or recessive gene? Genes are your characteristics that you gain from your parents. This includes things such as eye color, hair color, hair texture (curly/ straight), etc. When two genes are combined (mom&dad) whichever gene is present is the dominant gene.
The fetal stage is the longest stage lasting from 9 weeks- birth. This is when most of the development happens. The baby grows to it's fullest size, their organs fully develop, and they start to digest food and water.
What is meiosis? Meiosis is a type of cell division that is found in sexually reproducing organs. This process determines the sex chromosome that the parents' germ cells pass on to their offspring
Genetic disorders can cause many different things in the development of a child. Some of the most common genetic disorders are down syndrome, upper cleft, cystic fibrosis, sickle cell disease, heart defects, etc.
The germinal stage is the shorting period of a baby's development. This stage is the first 2 weeks when the baby is just some bundled up cells. There is constant cell division, mom usually does not know about new baby during this time.
What are just some of the many birthing complications that can occur during child birth? A breech baby is when mom is in labor or soon to be and the baby has not yet turned making his or her head face towards the birthing canal. Another is when a mom's birthing canal is not large enough for baby and needs an immediate c-section. Lastly, another complication can be the baby being birthed too early making them premature.
