By Tuesday all students should reach page 69 of Fathers and Sons. Your rhetoric packet is due on Thursday. You should start to seriously memorize your lines now for the play.
2nd Period we will be continuing our break from politics with the study of Pre-Socratic philosophy this week, on Monday and Wednesday, notes will be collected as part of our process of improving our note taking. 3rd Period - the Unit Test has been moved to Monday and your adaptation of Herodotus is due then as well. We will be moving forward with a break from politics and war with a look at the origins and an outline of classical Greek philosophy. There will be a review of Pre-Socratic thought on Friday.
We will be working on verbs and have an in class graded review on Thursday or Friday depending on how fast we advance.
Students in ENG 2 will continue their journey through Dante’s Inferno. They will also begin learning William Wordsworth’s “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud” in preparation for the National Poetry Competition. Students will also be practicing their descriptive writing skills. Please keep an eye on PowerSchool and Google Classroom for possible assignments and resources. Have a wonderful week! Students will be learning about Populism in response to the changes coming from industrialization. They will consider primary sources and the effects of industrialism in America as well as the Spanish-American War. Students should be working on their National History Day projects, which are due on February 20th. Look for more specifics including assignments on Google Classroom and PowerSchool.
