Barramundi is a popular fish in Australian cuisine and represents the rich aquatic resources found in Australia's waters. Barramundi means 'large-scaled river fish in the Aboriginal language. The Barramundi holds cultural importance, especially in Indigenous Australian communities. It has significance in Aboriginal Dreamtime stories and is considered a symbol of the Northern Territory, where it is abundant in the waters. In specific Dreamtime stories, it is also considered as a totem that plays a crucial role in the creation of certain landscapes or the establishment of cultural practices. The fish has sustained Indigenous communities for generations, and its cultural importance is reflected in various artistic representations and stories.

INSTRUCTIONS
  • Mix the flour with the salt in a large bowl.
  • Add the butter and rub it into the flour with the tips of your fingers, until it resembles fine crumbs.
  • Stir in the milk with a round blade knife to make a soft dough
  • On a floured work surface , shape into a soft and smooth ball.
  • Set the ball of dough onto a tray or baking sheet and flatten gently to make a round.
  • Cut a deep cross in the dough and brush lightly with milk.
  • Bake at 190C for 30 minutes until golden.
