The Europan Union is a political and economic union.

WHAT IS THE EUROPEAN UNION?

-Promote democracy and equality. -Respect cultural and linguistic diversity. -Combat social exclusionand discrimination. -Contribute to the sustainable development of Europe and the rest of the world.

These are some of the European Union´s objetives: -Promote freedom, peace and the well-being of its citizens. -Offer security and justice. -Respect the dignity and rights of every human being.

OBJECTIVES OF THE EUROPEAN UNION

1.Resumen

It represents the citizens of the EU countries and is elected by them. Function: It approves the EU budget and passes laws along with the council of the EU.

EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT

It represents the goverments of the EU countries. Function: It allows laws and cordinates policies. It takes decisions on European Pairlament.

COUNCIL OF THE EU

It represents the common interests of the EU. Function: It proposes new laws and implements the decisions of the European Pairlament and the council of the EU.

EUROPEAN COMMISION

The heads of governments of the EU countries. Function: It defines the general political direction and priorities of the EU.
