Norman Rockwell is famous for his illustrations which he created from 1916 to 1963. The same year, he illustrated his first book, Tell Me Why, Stories, and began a long association with the Boy Scouts movement in the United States, illustrating Boy's Life magazine.

History:
In addition to Rockwell's 574 original works, the museum also houses the Norman Rockwell Archives, a collection of more than 100,000 miscellaneous items, including photographs, fan mail, and several business documents. In 2014 the Famous Artists School donated its archives to the museum, including preparatory drawings by Rockwell, one of its founding members in 19482.
The museum was founded in 1969 in Stockbridge, where Rockwell lived the last 25 years of his life. The museum has been in its current location since 1993. Its design was developed by architect Robert A. M. Stern.
Norman Rockwell's style has been described as storyteller (narrative). As an illustrator, he ensured that his works were in perfect correspondence with the texts he illustrated (this is the case with Tom Sawyer). For his magazine covers, every detail had a role in the narrative of the scene.
