Hook's cabin

Welcome to my cabin sailor, as pirates we have always been seen as bad people. Let us explain ourselves and you may be able to like us.

Let me tell you all about the complexity of pirates!

The reason for me to act the way I do is something called the Peter Pan syndrome.

The Peter Pan syndrome

Peter Pan Syndrome describes people who have difficulty “growing up.” They may find it hard to manage typical adult responsibilities, such as keeping a job and maintaining healthy relationships. According to Kiley, people with Peter Pan Syndrome beh ve irresponsibly and may display narcissistic personality traits. This, he says, makes it challenging for them to have functional social, professional, and romantic relationships. He states that because people with Peter Pan Syndrome refuse to accept responsibility, they tend to blame others for problems. They also have difficulty expressing their emotions, which contributes to their issue with maintaining relationships.

How to decipher a rebus? Here a little example. 1 - There is a fly. If you substitute the letters F & L from the word FLY by an M, it gives you the word MY. 2 - CAMEL turns into NAME. 3 - FISH turns into IS. 4 - PEAR turns into PETER. 5 - PLANE turns into PAN. Result : My name is Peter Pan !

Task

You are now faced with the plan of Neverland!Follow the steps in order to discover different sections of the Island. Begin by meeting the mermaids in their lagoon.

Good luck!

Watch this video of a moment Peter and Wendy shared with the mermaids in the lagoon. Pay close attention to the difference between how the mermaids treat Peter and then how they act with Wendy.

Peter Pan (1953)

Level 1

"If you shut your eyes and are a lucky one, you may see at times a shapeless pool of lovely pale colours suspended in the darkness; then if you squeeze your eyes tighter, [...] you see the lagoon. This is the nearest you ever get to it on the mainland, just one heavenly moment; if there could be two moments you might see the surf and hear the mermaids singing. The children often spent long summer days on this lagoon, swimming or floating most of the time, playing the mermaid games in the water, and so forth. You must not think from this that the mermaids were on friendly terms with them: (opposite from what's expected), it was among Wendy's lasting regrets that all the time she was on the island she never had a civil word from one of them. When she stole softly to the edge of the lagoon she might see them by the score, especially on Marooners' Rock, where they loved to recline in the sun, combing out their hair in a lazy way that quite irritated her; or she might even swim, on tiptoe as it were, to within a yard of them, but then they saw her and dived, probably splashing her with their tails, not by (sudden unplanned bad event/crash), but (on purpose). They treated all the boys in the same way, except (definitely/as one would expect) Peter, who talked with them on Marooners' Rock by the hour, and sat on their tails when they got bold and rude. He gave Wendy one of their combs."

Pirates are complicated beings, they were made in maNy different ways as you will understand in this video. It can be tough being an adult in a land of children.

Disney's Hook

In this video, Wendy sees the mermaids for the first time and seems amazed by them. Reflect on their appearance compared to the way they act with Peter and Wendy.
