I/ The geography of Burkiena Faso
- In 1984, the president Thomas Sankara, change the name of Upper-Volta to Burkina Faso.
- In 1947, the Upper Volta became a protectorate of France for the second time, to his indepedance on August 5, 1960
- In 1896, the kingdom of mossi of ouagadou became a french protectorate, from 1919, the protectorate became the colony of Upper-Volta.

Burikina Faso is located in the west of the African continent, its area is of 274 200 km². The population of the country is 22.1 million inhabitants (in 2021).The capital of the country is Ouagadougou, it is located in the center of the country, Burkina Faso is surrouded by six countries : Mali, Niger, Ghana, Togo, Benin, Ivoir coast.burkina faso maintains an alliance with Mali and Niger, the alliance is called the alliance of the states of the Sahel
