The European Union is an economic and political unione which includes 27 countries in Europe. These countries came together to make things better, easier and safer for people. They agreed to work together and help each other.

With the start of the Commission chaired by Ursula von der Leyen, the 2030 Agenda has become central to the political action of the European Union

STRATEGY FOR THE RIGHTS OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES 2021-2030
- AccesibleEU: a database to provide information and promote good practices on accessibility in all sectors
- European Disability Charter: valid in all EU countries participating in the EU Disability Card project, aims to reduce bureaucracy for people with disabilities and simplify and digitize activities that affect them
- Guidance for Member States on how to improve independent living and social inclusion of persons with disabilities
- Framework for Excellent Social Services intended for people with disabilities
- Legislative package to improve the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the labour market
- A platform on disability with the aim of supporting the implementation of the strategy and strengthening collaboration and knowledge exchange
- Accessibility: the strategy aims to ensure that persons with disabilities can move freely, stay without barriers and actively participate in the democratic process
- Quality of life and autonomy: particular attention is paid to social protection and non-discrimination in the workplace
- Equal participation: the aim is to ensure equal opportunities and access to justice, education, culture, sport, tourism and all health services
- Role of the EU: the European Union is committed to leading by example and being a point of reference for the promotion of the rights of persons with disabilities both internally and externally.

STRATEGY FOR THE RIGHTS OF PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES 2021-2030
Some targets are:
- Ensure equal opportunity and reduce inequality in outcomes, including by eliminating discriminatory laws, policies, and practices and promoting appropriate legislation, policies, and actions in this regard
- by 2030, enhance and promote the social, economic and political inclusion of all people, regardless of age, gender, disability, race, ethnicity, religion, economic status or otherwise
