Summary
Doctor Faustus
Christopher Marlowe's masterpiece
After the grandiose representation of Marlowe's Doctor Faustus which took place yesterday at the Shakespeare Globe, the very famous critic Alice Testa published her comment on it.
Doctor Faustus is divided into 5 acts, and is the story of a great scholar, who already has a knowledge above normal, but for him it's not enough. He wants to know things that are part of the forbidden knowledge, and to do so he has to turn to black magic. Faustus summons up Mephistopheles, the devil’s agent, and made a deal with him: he asks 24 years of absolute power and knowledge, and in return he will let hell have his soul. At the end of his life, however, Faustus is consumed with remorse and despair, and is dragged to hell with the damned.

Doctor Faustus
" This performance has enchanted London. The writers remained true to the plot which was rather difficult to represent, and at the same time made the representation modern, with the help of special effects, chorus, music and lights. The audience was involved and interested, even though it was a long show. The actors did an impeccable job, entered the character and gave them life. The best scene, no doubt, was when Faustus was dragged to Hell. "
