Thomas Hardy was an English novelist,short story writer and poet.In adddition,he was influenced in his novels and poetry by romanticism. He gained fame in his novels far from the Madding Crows,Tess d"Urderville and Jude the Obscure

¿ WHAT IS THIS BOOK ABOUT ?

Thomas Hardy penultimate novel was Tess D"Urberville ,which today is considered one of the most important works of English literature. He was born on June 2 of 1793 and died on January 11 of 1828.

The tragic story of Tess of the d'Urbervilles, written in the realist and critical style of 19th century in England, as Alba said, is probably Thomas Hardy's most famous work. Tess, the heroine of the novel, is a peasant girl with a pure and kind heart. However, the hardships she experiences throughout history end up destroying her. Tess's life is quite pitiful. She must work to support his relatives, who are also poor. In the past, Tess's family was from the aristocracy , but at the beginning of the book they have lost their fortune. Alec d'Urberville, the lustful heir to a large inheritance, takes advantage of Tess's inocence . This man's seduction lead her to misfortune. Tess's true love, upon learning that she had lost her virginity, leaves her. From there, she is ruined.
