Step 1: Create the Forest
How can the family place their yard so that it has the smallest impact on the carrying capacity of the forest?
A family bount about 2.4 acres, (10,000 m2) of forest. They plan to build a house on the land. They plant to clear a 0.5 acres ( 45 m by 45 m) area, for their yard.
Tody you will build a model to find the carrying capacity of oak trees in a forest. Then you will simulate clearing some land for a house and yard to learn how that affects carrying capacity.

Step 5: Different yard placement: Move the yard to different places in the forest to learn how the carrying capacity changes. ( along the edge of the forest, corner of the forest, or other). New Carrying Capacity Count and record the trees that are NOT touched by the house/yard.
