Biography

1/3

Hildegard was born in 1098 on the banks of the Nahe River in Bermersheim, Germany. Her family was noble and they had nine children when she came into the world. In this way, and as was the custom at that time, the tenth offspring was to be given to the Church. And that's how his particular destiny began.

Writings and works

Of the religious works that Hildegard wrote, three of a theological nature stand out: Scivias, on dogmatic theology; Liber vite meritorum, on moral theology; and Liber divinorum operum, on cosmology, anthropology and theodicy. He showed great knowledge of botany, medicine and human physiology. He intuited blood circulation centuries before it could be proven and made the most detailed description of the female orgasm that had been made to date.

Curiosities

Here I leave you things that stood out the most in it
He showed great knowledge of botany, medicine and human physiology. He intuited blood circulation centuries before it could be proven and made the most detailed description of the female orgasm that had been made to date.

And this is the end for its presentation!

Hildegard von Bingen died at the age of 81 having covered a widely exploited share of life. She was a vindictive woman, defending even people who had been excommunicated by the Church and whom she did not hesitate to defend or even bury in holy fields. However, he always had the approval and admiration of popes, kings, nobles, as well as the humblest people.
There are also written documents, such as those written by the monk Theoderic of Echternach, which speak of the visions and mystical experiences that the girl suffered when she was eight or nine years old. He never lost consciousness or went into ecstasy, what he experienced were very intense visual and auditory hallucinations, which would be repeated throughout his life in many other ways. Today, it is believed that perhaps what Hildegar von Bingen suffered from was migraines.

In the point 1, we're talking about the life of Hildegard von Bingen (her biography)

She was fortunate that as a Benedictine nun of a German monastery, it was common for abundant books on Greek cosmologies to arrive to be translated. He had volumes of science, natural history... It was when he turned 38 that he had his biggest revelation. In one of these visions, she saw herself enveloped in lights. An inner voice then told him what his design should be: to write, to transmit knowledge to the world.
Hildegard von Bingen was a twelfth-century abbess with an exceptional career. She was also a medieval mystic and visionary, author of several books on spirituality, visions, medicine, health and nutrition, nature. She laid the foundations of gynecology and women's health. She was a composer, writer, philosopher, scientist, naturalist, physician, abbess, mystic and monastic leader.
She was known as the Sibyl of the Rhine. Ever since she was a child, she showed an uncommon passion for knowledge and all kinds of knowledge. His mind, his curiosity, almost comparable to that of Leonardo da Vinci, always focused his attention on understanding nature. It should also be noted that Hildegard von Bingen always had the favor of the political and religious elites to carry out her work as a scholar. Something uncommon not only because of her gender, but because of the era in which she lived.

In the point 3, we're talking about curiosities and anecdotes about her

In the point 2, we're talking about her writings and his musical works
