TIt is clear that LGBTQ+ studnts are'nt being properly represented in the school system. With the power of a whole community, we can make a change. The best way to create change is through a petition, anyone can create a petition. Gather signatures of people who are in favor of the petition and once the petition is popular enough, have it delivered. A petition like this can either be delivered directly to the school or if possible, to a school board official. For more information visit the link below

How Do LGBTQ Students Feel?

The 2021 National School Climate Survery conducted by GLSN, “81.8% of LGBTQ+ students reported feeling unsafe in school because of at least one of their actual or perceived personal characteristics.” This study doesn’t only shed light on this issue that is happening within our schools but shows that this isn’t new. This topic has been debated for years. One can only imagine that it has gotten worse. To provide a safe and comfortable learning environment, schools should have an all-inclusive curriculum to ensure that every student feels represented.
