Nasce nel Medioevo, periodo della piena affermazione e diffusione della fede Cristiana.

Francesco Petrarca è stato uno scrittore, poeta filosofo e filologo italiano, considerato come uno dei fondamenti della letteratura italiana, sopratttutto grazie alla sua opera più celebre, ovvero il Canzoniere.

COSA PROVAVA PETRARCA?

E' il compnimento (che si può definire una vera preghiera) in cui possiamo notare maggiormente il conflitto interiore del poeta, che parla di Laura come un crudele avversario che lo ha sottomesso, e dell'amore come una perdita di tempo. Egli prega il Signore affinchè lo aiuti a ricondure i suoi pensieri verso di lui. Al contrario di quanto dice nella poesia ''Benedetto sia 'l giorno 'l mese, e 'l anno in cui benedice il giorno dell'innamoramento.
