Mexicali is bigger with 700 000 residents, if we went to Mexicali, it’s for the culture, restaurants or to go to a party, not for work. On this side of the border, the mixed culture between California and Mexico is really present, people prefer go to America to study or to work.
Calexico
Calexico, a farmer city of 40000 residents, on this side of the border, people from Mexico and the US are here to work, legally or not, day and night at every moment of the journey. Since 2011, a big wall is blocking and separating the twin-cities, before it was a short “wall” of 3 meters poorly maintained so it was very easy to cross the border to work in the Californian fields. .
