Introduction
In 1605 A.D. Robert Catesby wanted to end the persecution of Roman Catholics by the English Government. He organised a plot against the King and the members of Parliament which was later named "The Gunpowder Plot". This is the Story...
Menù
The story took place ages ago, in 1605. Robert Catesby was the leader of a group of English Catholics who planned the Gunpowder Plot. Guy Fawkes helped him to blow up the Houses of Parliament: they rented a cellar where they brought lots of barrels of gunpowder. They wanted to kill King James I and all the Lords at the same time, but Guy Fawkes was found in the cellar, arrested and executed. The King ordered to set a big bonfire in order to celebrate the failure of the Gunpowder Plot. Every year people celebrate on 5 november Guy Fawkes night or Bonfire Night just by making huge figures of Guy Fawkes and throwing them into the fire. They also organise fireworks displays.
