first generation

The origin of this musical style takes place in South Korea, in the 90s, coinciding with the development of other similar musical genres around the world. At this time, the first Korean groups emerged with a Westernized tendency, both in the way of composing and in the way they dressed and acted. To this we add that the Korean country was in full growth, so promoting a nation that leaves a very good image throughout the world was a must. Reaching the 21st century, it expands until today. It has received widespread national and international recognition.

the kpop industry

There is a huge industry around kpop, with its bad and good things. the four biggest companies are called "the big four" and they have the biggest and most successful groups sometimes companies can be very toxic with their idols, forcing them to leave their groups, change their voice when they sing, overwork themselves, go on diets... idols are first recruited by a recruiting agent, then trained under the company they were recruited for, and then debuted as soloists or members of a group. in some special cases, group members are chosen by the leader of the group.
