- Mollie shared that her decision to become a social worker was influenced by her brother who is affected by a disability. She says she learned to have empathy for him at a young age which inspired her to pursue a career in helping others.
- Mollie received her Masters in Social Work in 1986 from Norfolk State. Her field placement was in alcoholism in a public substance abuse agency and a family stabilization unit with sexually abused children.

- This assignment helped with my understanding of the social work practice because I was able to speak with a real, currently practicing social worker. She is very knowledgable about the profession so I feel like I chose a great social worker to help improve my understanding of the profession.
- The information I gathered really affected my attitude towards the profession. I learned a lot and it has positively improved my perception of social workers. I got to hear the great things and the not so great things about the profession, which certainly helped with understanding it bettter.
