Concern: Difficulty understanding the purpose of certain methods/activities and connections back to the content.

Request: More information about the session prior to (e.g. the day before) the session.

Request: More take-home information and additional opportunities to learn.

Request: Be finished by 11:50 to ensure easier transition between classes.

Click the + buttons below to see how the Professional Learning Team has used your survey feedback to improve and tailor Faculty Forum based on KC faculty's needs.

What did we change? We sent a reminder email the day before the session, with a brief introduction to the day’s topic and access to the task cards so participants could learn about/choose their activities in advance.

What did we change? We wrote a more detailed printed handout and ensured they were readily available. We're inviting faculty who attended the in-person session to join Faculty Forum Online (along with those who live too far away or who were unable to attend due to extenuating circumstances).

What did we change? We laid a copy of the handout, a copy of the KWL chart, and a pen at each seat. We explicitly pointed out the materials and emphasized importance of sitting in those seats so the materials would be handy.

What did we change? We narrowed our focus and simplified information as much as possible, planned 25/50 minutes (50% of the session) dedicated to active learning.

What did we change? We used lapel mics and asked participants to sit closer to the front of the room.

What did we change? We planned activities that had levels of difficulty and pacing, and ensured a balanced mix of digital and non-digital.

What did we change? We emphasized reliance on Faculty Forum Course (and caught every time Mia said ‘Resources’ instead of ‘Forum’), ensured links to certain resources (e.g. The Emoji Challenge) were accessible in multiple ways, and had standing signs at each activity area.

What did we change? We were finished by 11:49 AM and dismissed by 11:50 AM.

What did we change? We explicitly stated reasoning behind methodology, created a special KWL chart with detailed explanation, included rationales for each activity on the task cards, and created a more detailed handout containing purpose.

What did we change? We wrote and printed task cards that contained instructions as well as additional details. We placed those task cards in the areas where the activity was meant to take place.
