Assessment
- focus a part of the assessment of the Master's dissertation and/or report on international/intercultural aspects of the research the students have conducted;
- poster. ask students to design a poster and to present their findings to each other (online). Do not assess purely on contents, but also take into account other aspects (creativity, presentation skills, ...), and optionally use a rubric when doing so.
Practical Examples
Intensity
Ghent University students collaborate with international students to carry out specific research activities. Also an option: reflecting on research activities together, e.g. in the context of the Master's dissertation or another research assignment.
- foster collaboration with international students in course units with a research component. You could work with incoming international students in Ghent (on site), or with a group of students from international partner institutions (online).
- invite students to look at the (collaborative) research results from their local context, to explain and compare the different methods and interpretations to each other.

Comparative Research in Collaboration
In the Advanced Qualitative Techniques course unit, the students make video calls with students at universities abroad. Their counterparts take a similar course unit on qualitative research methods and set up a similar research project. The students reflect on contextual differences and their own socio-economic position.
