- There was no building specifically designated for school use.
- In other situations educated slaves taught to their master’s children
- In ancient times, in Rome weren’t any schools, but the parents taught their sons in their houses

Since classes started very early, the poor children left the house lighting the way with a lantern and had to go out when it was still dark. Rich boys were usually accompanied by a slave who brought for them the books and the necessities for the lesson. The poor boy, on the other hand, had to bring the waxed tablets, the breakfast food and the necessities himself.
