Only 10% ofthe population is able to have safe drinking water, which they obtain by rare access to streams, ponds, and hand-dug wells. The water is dirty and most people so not have access to the tools and equipment needed to sanitize the water.

Access to Water

Over 21 million people do not have access to clean or safe water due to their lack of even rainfalland poor water filterization. Their main source of water is direct rainfall, which leads to the water not being evenly distributed to the population.

They have helped immensely by teaching people how to be more sanitary and teaching them how to properly filter water

Open Defecation It is very common in Uganda to openly defecate without using a toilet. By improving their lifestyle and not doing this as commonly as it was before, they have reduced the amount of unsanitized water by over half the amount.
