A: No, Many countries have abolished it, and its application often depends on specific laws.
The United States of America still belongs to the category of countries where the death penalty is applied as a method of punishment for high treason,murder,espionage,terrorism, drug trafficking,rape or torture.
The fact is that in the 31 states where the death penalty is practiced from 1977 up to the latest data of 2015 there where approximately 1236 people who died by lethal injection, 158 people in the eletric chair, 11 people in the gas chamber, 3 by hanging and 3 by shooting.
Q: Is the dealth penalty obligatory?
The death penalty has been abolished in 120 of the approximately 200 states in the world,but one of the most importand states in the world.

- Community service: Be required to perform community service as a way to repay society for their crimes.
- Education and skills: Providing education, vocational training, and life skills programs to prisoners can equip them with the necessary tools to reintegrate in to society.
- Life imprisonment: Instead of executing criminals, they are setenced to spend the rest of their life in prison-->removed from society.
- Many contries with high execution rates continue to experience serious crimes, indicating that the threat of execution might not be as effective.
- Many conutries and organizations consider the dealth penalty to be a violation of basic human rights.
