Fréjus ha fondada por Julio Cesar y el Puerto-Fréjus fue inaugurado el 12 de julio de 1989 por François Léotard.

Fréjus tiene una tradición historica : el origen de la fiesta del Uva. Al siglo siete, la fiesta del uva se celebraba por una misa en la catedral de la ciudad de Fréjus. La fiesta del Uva reagrupa festividades, hospitalidades, espectáculos y desfiladeros en Fréjus. Todo el mundo ha invitado a recibir las primeras uvas.
