what origins does twerking have??

In the colonian period , black men and women were at the bottom of the white male hierarchy. They were considered primitive people and women were sexualized and enslaved, but they were recognized by the larger proportions of their lips and butt compared to white women. It is therefore normal that, for a black woman, dancincg with her b-side takes on subversive meanings: today she is no longer a slave. She is free, and decides to dance to the music with that b-side which in the past was the emblem of prejudice. Finally she regains possession of her body , and indeed, she "throws it in the face" of those who previously sujbected her.

So Twerk was born to become a form of freedom for african women and to raise the self-esteem of many women by felling beautiful and free with their own bodies. When did it become famous?? Twerk first become popular in the United States in 2000, thanks to Atlanta hip hop duo Ying Yang Twins when they relesed the single Whistle While you Twurk. In 2013 the term twerk was added to the Oxford Dictionary Online.

Twerking is now a dance at all the effects and in all the world, it has become very popular thanks to (as previously mentioned) Ying Yang Twins from Atlanta. This all started in the 2000s and continue to increase its popularity in the years. It has become so popular that in tv shows they started using this dance and singers make songs about it (for example Cardi B did a song about twerking, a video aswell). It became famous as a real dance and because it has appeared in different films (Fifty Shades Darker, ec..) or tv series (SHE HULK). But twerking is also used in videos or p*rn movies, for example in sites like porn hub or onlyfans, in which girls (in the last one) use their ass and body to make money. Also using this technique in street clubs dancers, to make money, use a pole to dance and twerk.

One of the most famous people that is known for twerking in Italy is Elettra Lamborghini, she used this type of dance in her musical videoclips. In fact the album is called "Twerkin queen", published on June 14th 2019. In those videoclips she twerked with other girls, that started a trend on social medias called #pempemchallenge. Elettra Lamborghini is the daughter of Luisa Peterlongo and Tonino Lamborghini, she started her career in some Lombardian discos. She is also known for participating in the tv program Super Shore 16, which aired in Spain and latin America, in 2016 and in the spanish show Gran Hermano VIP and Geordie Shore in England.
