General Information

School holidays start in september and end in august. The Winter holidays start on January 20th amd end on february 28th. Usually, they have two weeks of school, and during that time, they stay at school. Unlike Italy, where we have 5 school days and 2 days of vacation, in China they have 2 weeks of school followed by 5 days of vacation. The system depends on the school you go and the city you live in.

In China, elementary school lasts for 6 years, starting from six years old to twelve years old. Classes begin at 7:50 AM and end at 5:00 PM. The subject are math, chinese, english, physical education, art, and music.

Elementary School

As in Italy except political ethics normally a chinese student starts his chool day at 7:30 and does gymnastic and sports in the school garden. The lessons begin at 8:00 and finish at 5:30. There is a lunch break and a physical activity break

In China the middle school system lasts 3 or 4 year. Chinese chinildren go to the middle school from 12 year old and 15 years old. They study these subjects: Chinese, math, physical education, science, music, art, informatics, history, geography and political ethics.

Middle School

Usually after the school day, in the evening, high schools organise some extra activities. For example students can play basketball or table tennis, they can do tai chi or kung fu (that are martial arts). But are also organisated painting and calligraphy courses.

In China, high school lasts 3 years: from 15 years old to 18 years old. Classes start at 7:30 am and finish at 5pm. Students study many subjects (similar to ours) like: maths, phisics, science, history, geography, art and obviously chinese.

High School

"Multi-university" is such as a big campus in which many individuals universities and faculties are united; it is a really popular university sistem in China.

Students, after high school, can go to University. In China many students can't go to university because it's too expensive, so they work hard in high school to get scholarships. For this reason scholarships are really widespread in China.
