How can we as NMS 6th Graders take the entire 6th grade to a planetarium and share our space knowledge with the community?

  1. Group of 4 kids
  2. Each kid has a specific job based on talents
    1. Coder/Electrical
    2. Researcher
    3. Writer
    4. Artist

Constellation Model

  1. Cardboard
  2. LED lights (all the same color)
  3. copper tape
  4. microbit
  5. alligator clips

Expectations

  1. Draw your chosen constellation on cardboard
  2. Poke holes in the cardboard where the starts are located
  3. insert LED lights into the holes
  4. create a paper circuit with copper tape
  5. code microbit
  6. connect microbit to copper tape with alligator clips
  7. Test final constellation

Present

Work together in your group to write about your constellation. You can make a slide, a genially (like this one), Canva, or use any other site you can create a presentation on. Make sure to include pictures. Please include these slides:

  1. Mythology (Greek, Norse, Egyptian)
    1. Story behind the constellation
  2. Location in the night sky
    1. Where we see it in the night sky
  3. When we can see it
    1. What time during the year can we see it from the Northern Hemisphere?
  4. Reasons we use constellations still today
    1. List all the reasons we still use these today

We are going to make paper circuits.
