Write here: Many of the Second Continetal Congress delagates were afriad to seperate from england so they sent the Olive branch petitiion to the king but it was ignored. The Second Continental also selected george washington as leader of the army due to his experiance during the French and Indian war.

Write here: The battles at lexington and concord were the first battles of the American Revolution. The first battles was also known as "The shot heard around the world". The battle of Bunker Hill was signifigant to the colonist becuase they fought a hard battle against the strongest military in the world and held there own even though they lost in the end this gave the colonist the idea that they could actually win the war.

Write here: The major signifigance of this battle was the fact that it was the turning point of the war. This is because that other european powers came to join the war on the colonies side because of the win at Saratoga the colonies were able to gain France as ally.

Write here: The harsh winter in vally forge killed many of the colonists but George washington was able to trin and improve his army despite the freezing tempitures. He was also not the only one trying to training the colonists the other leader was Baron Friedrich Von steuben and he was a Prussian military officer.
