The significance of The batte of Lexington and Concord is that it was the very first battle to start the war. There was a period of about ten years, were tension was rising and the colonists knew a change was coming. This first battle was called ,"The shot heard round the world," because it set the war into motion and rallied the colonists against Britain.
The second continental congress's mission was to reconcile with Britiain. Their last attempt to maintain peace was by sending Britain The Olive branch petition. However, there was to much tension between the colonies and Britain to go back to their formal relationship and war eventually broke out.
Women became more active in society, so they learned that if they were going to fight and sacrifice for the country they wanted benefits as a result. This resulted in women making moves for woman suffrage, and equal schooling as men. The impact of Republican Motherhood was that the next generation, who would eventually take over the government, had their values instealed by their mothers. This allowed women to have a more active role in society
The significance of the Declaration of Independence was that it listed all the reasons that the colonists has decided to separate from Britain. It also went back to enlightenment thinking by stating that all men were created equal. So therefore the people had natural rights, and did not owe the king their lives.

Significance of Valley Forge:
Significance of the Battle of Yorktown:
Explain what America gains:
Up until The Battle of Saratoga, the Americans were loosing the war. After this unlikely victory, the American hope and moral went up because they defeated a superior army. This win also led to France joining the war on Americas side, who then lead Spain to do the same.
The significance of Valley Forge was that it was the location were Washington received troop training help from Baron Von Stueben and Lafayette. This allowed the troops more experience and confidence in their fighting abilities, and giving them a better chance of winning the war.
The significance of The Battle of Yorktown was that is was the last battle before the americans won the war. After the Americans and their allies trapped Cornwallis at Yorktown, the British had no choice but to surrender. This made America truely independent.
As written in the Treaty of Paris, the Americans gained their independence, and the boundaries of the United states expanded west, all the way to the Mississippi river, north to border of Canada, and south to border of Spanish Florida. The British also had to leave America entirely.
