A VOCABULARY GAME

How to play

  1. Your teacher will write the words she wants you to revise randomly on the board.
  2. Get into two teams (A & B)
  3. Each team member gets a number.
  4. Each team lines up at the back of the room.
  5. Each team recieves a fly swatter.
  6. Your teacher will describe one of the words on the board. Then, she will call out a number.
  7. The two students with that number run to the board with their fly swatter to find the word that matches the description.
  8. The first student to swat the correct words gets one point for their team.
  9. Your teacher will give another description and so on.
  10. The game continues until all the words have been used. The team with the most points at the end of the game is the winner.

Are you ready??

  1. RAW. Food that is not cooked.
  2. FROZEN. Food that has been preserved by freezing.
  3. TINNED.Food that is put in a tin in order to preserve it.
  4. READY-MADE. Food that is bought in a finished form and available to use immediately.
  5. PRAWN. A small sea animal with a shell and ten legs, that can be eaten.
  6. MUSSEL. A small sea creature that has a black shell with two parts that close tightly together. It can be eaten.
  7. BEEF. The flesh of cows, eaten as food:
  8. AUBERGINE. An oval, purple vegetable that is white inside and is usually eaten cooked.
  9. BEETROOT. The small, round, dark red root of a plant, eaten cooked as a vegetable, especially cold in salads
  10. PEAR. a sweet fruit, usually with a green skin and a lot of juice, that has a round base and is slightly pointed towards the stem,
  11. BAKED. to cook inside an oven, without using added liquid or fat.
  12. CUT OUT. To stop eating or drinking something, usually to improve your health.
