I am a Meteorologist

Materials needed:
  • Data table
  • For the next three days you are to check out the weather online for your area or watch the weather report on a local television station. You are to record observations about the weather as well as the high and low temperature for each day. At the end of Day 3, you will use your data to predict the weather for Day 4.

Procedure

Water Cycle Experiment

Materials needed:
  • Microwaveable container (bowl/cup)​
  • Water​
  • Plastic wrap, Ziplock bag, grocery bag or any other plastic covering for your container​
  • Rubber band (optional)​
  • Ice cube​
  • Microwave
  • Gather all of your materials.
  • Pour water into a microwaveable cup/bowl.
  • Place the microwaveable cup/bowl into the microwave.
  • Heat the water until it you see steam rising 1 to 3 minutes depending on the size of the container.
  • Cover the lid of the bowl/cup with plastic wrap.
  • Secure plastic wrap to the container so that it does not move. Use a rubber band if needed.
  • Place an ice cube on the top of the plastic wrap.
  • Record your starting observations.
  • Record your results in the table below every 5 minutes for 20 minutes.
