Task 2: Plans, Hopes and Expectations

Hello, my name is Nayibe Varela, right now I live in the city of Bogotá, one of the greatest achievements I have had currently has been being able to buy a house, although I still have it in gray work and I still need to do the finishes, I feel so happy to see. The truth is that since I arrived in this city, I have fulfilled all the dreams and goals I had. Such as studying at a university, having a good job, learning to ride a motorcycle. Seeing that I have been able to achieve all the things that I once dreamed of is a source of great pride for me. I was also able to adopt a dog who is my companion, her name is Bichota and she is very cute, it really brightens my days. My short-term goals, I will make my dream of paying for a motorcycle come true and being able to obtain a license to drive a car. Another medium-term goal would be to finish my house, leaving it beautiful as I have always imagined it. Also being able to finish my university and obtain the knowledge that is needed to be able to practice my profession very well. I want, and I will, to be able to help my family financially since they do not have the necessary resources to do certain things. My long-term goals, I will have already bought my mother a house in Valledupar, I will have gotten a job where I can perform my role as an accountant, and it will be well paid. Being able to enter the national police with the rank of officer is a very precise objective that I have, after practicing my profession for a year, in order to enter the police with experience. Also to be able to buy a lot here in Bogotá and build another house, so that when I go to the police I have two extra incomes.

In 5 years I will see myself with my own house and without paying rent, selling my pizzeria, since it will be exhausting and I will have more free time. I will have completed my bachelor's degree in accounting and will have completed a specialization in tax or forensic auditing. consolidating my transportation company, Ganesha Express, making deliveries in Bogotá, Medellín and Neiva, and I will be working on it full time. I will finish paying off my apartment in Mosquera, explore Colombia and visit another country. I would love to visit Egypt because I really like the pyramids. Another achievement I want to achieve is to provide more financial support to my parents and start a family with my partner by adopting a child. I would also like to learn more about how to start an e-commerce business to generate extra income and save to buy a house on the coast. I have always dreamed of living by the sea during my retirement. In the meantime, I'll rent it to help cover the costs. Additionally, I plan to learn how to ride a motorcycle and drive a car and eventually acquire both. In 10 years I will have expanded my company to other cities and we will have our own vehicles for deliveries. I will also have more personal time and will be able to travel around South America with my family by car, exploring new places and cultures, trying a variety of foods. I would also like to have a foundation to help older people who have been abandoned by their children, seeking help from various organizations like GoFundMe, without leaving my career aside. I will continue giving accounting consultations to individuals, although I will refrain from working with companies since it would take up too much of my time and I do not want to neglect my company or my family.
Hello, my name is Gloria Avila, I live in the city of Bogotá, I am 35 years old. My current achievements include being able to continue my studies in public accounting at UNAD, since I have a technical degree as an accounting and secretarial assistant. I have been working as an accounting analyst at Proships, where I can practice and learn more about accounting. Currently my family and I are paying the initial payment for an apartment in Mosquera, which will be delivered to us next year. We currently have a pizzeria with my partner, it is a bit complicated since we both work and I am also studying. However, things have been going well for us and we are working to establish a courier company in Bogotá. The company where I currently work has given me the opportunity to start it and after a while we may open a branch in another city.

I would like to start with who I am and the things I have lived. I am Jenny Viviana Novoa, I am 25 years old and I have a loving and stable life, I was born in La Calera Cundinamarca, place where I still live. I work as an assistant accountant in a pharmacy and I study public accounting at the UNAD. My childhood was with my mother and my grandparents, who have been my life example and to whom I owe many things. I have graduated from La Calera Departamental School but I couldn't apply for an university, I had to start working because I saw many economic needs at home. I have worked as a sales assistant in various clothing and women's accessories stores; many jobs later I was able to reach the position where I am now as an assistant accountant in a family-owned pharmacy. Thanks to my work and effort today I have my own motorcycle and a car with my partner, likewise, I have my own house that I am paying in installments with my partner. I have been taking small steps that have been adding up to goals that seemed huge to me at some point. When I see myself in 5 years, God allowing it, I will help my mother and grandparents more economically. I will pay the final payments of my house with my partner and I am going to graduate from UNAD with a degree in Public Accounting, with which I will make my whole family proud of my achievements and also the version of me that believed that graduating from college in the middle of so many needs was a very difficult goal. With my partner, we want to start our own business selling surgical supplies, with his knowledge in public health and my accounting skills we can do it, therefore, we will plan how to carry out the business and raising the necessary funds. My partner and I are going to adopt a puppy after I graduate, as it was something we had talked about a few years ago, hopefully things will work out. In 10 years I plan to do so many things that time is getting short. I will finally have finished my house payment, and with it I will have paid off other debts I have from my studies. I will have set up my own surgical supplies business with my partner, which will be called "JenFil Supplies". I will have formed a stable family, getting pregnant or adopting children and uniting a home with my partner, which is what we have always wanted for our future. Over the years, I will have become more mature and emotionally stable, which will be reflected in my peace and my relationship with others. Likewise, I will have created a home for older adults in need, I do not want any grandparents to have to go through abandonment and neglect in their last years of life, but on the contrary, I want them to be years full of love and affection.

On the academic side, I hope I will be finishing my studies in accounting by middle of 2025, that is my first mid-term goal, so, getting my professional card I am going to create my own company and I will offer my professional services as advisor in accounting to people who need it (personal or for their business) at an affordable price, giving them a complete service with accompaniment. Also, talking about my personal and professional mid-terms life goals, in five years I will reach the age to retire and, having the money that the government will give me monthly, I could leave the capital city to move to my house in Santa Marta with my husband to take a rest for a while, at least a couple of weeks. After taking our own time, I will start to provide my services as accountant in Santa Marta enjoying my free time with my family, going to the beach and rivers that are around, letting go the stress of the city.On the next 10 years, my husband and me will have obtained our passports, he will be enjoying also the retire, our daughters will have built their own lives so we could travel around all the little towns and big cities of Colombia, initially, and then around the world. When our world tour ends, I will have come to Colombia, to Tuchin, the town where my mother lives to share my experiences and spend time with her, with my siblings and extended family. I will have built another house there, but with a huge ground where I could seed fruits, vegetables and flowers, and that will be the place to bask my eld.

My name is Damaris Iriarte Gomez and I am 51 years old. I am from a little town in the south of Bolívar called El Coco, and within the personal achievements that I can be proud of are have obtained the bachelor´s degree, few years later, I had the opportunity to move to the capital with my brother, so I was able to study Food Engineer at UNAD, despite I had to delay my studies, I managed to get the technological degree two years ago. Then, I began to study Systems, and thanks to that degree, I have gotten a promotion in my workplace as systems operator that allows me to get a better life for me and my family so I have built a house in Santa Marta so when I retire, I can rest there near my mother and siblings. In a period of 10 years with my medium-term objectives fulfilled, the last stage will be seen my kids in a professional career chosen by them, because that is the principal reason of my daily sacrifice and my desire and my craving to become a professional in public accounting. All of this will have been successfully achieved thanks to the effort and dedication from all my family members. When I already completed all this steps, me and my wife will dedicate our life to travel around Colombia, and to be able to spend time together as we always dreamed, without having to work and just live with my retired allowance. As well, we will take advantage of our house that we are planning to build, the first floor will be built as a independent apartment, because we are going to rent it to get more earnings, the second floor is going to be for us and if we build a third floor, it will be for us as well. Finally, I will be able to do more often my favorite hobby that is cycling. I love to ride bike. Others dreams that I want to reach is climb the Alpe d'huez in France.

In a couple of months, I will complete my military career at the rank of first sergeant and I'm going to reach the end of my career with a retirement and pension allowance, then I will be with my family full time and I will contribute with my knowledge and experience to breed up my sons with good principles acquired so that they can successfully finish their high school. I will also be doing my best to finish my professional career as a public accountant in the "Unad", with a technology in accounting and taxation. I'm studying this because I won a scholarship to study at the military university. I am living very nice experience and realizing that the study opened many doors and I already understood that I'm going to achieve this goal for the future of my family, especially for my kids because when I get my pension, I will still being on a good age to keep working so, I'm going to work as a public accountant due to, with a better job I can help my kids get into a university and they could decide which one they want. Finally, in the medium term with my wife we will remodel the house we have in Ibague hopefully building two floors where my kids could live. We want to move there because, we want to live a quieter life taking advantage of what the city offers like tranquility and better climate. Also, I can fish and do camping or with the help of God I could reach my dream of climb the Nevado Del Tolima.
