  • As a high school math teacher, I strongly encourage students to print notes or take them on their computer. The only way to do this successfully is by having a monitor or printer available.

Keystone Prep Clubs **** More info on this club will be coming soon***** This folder contains multiple practice activities you can use to prepare for Keystones. I encourage you to take your Algebra Keystone exam in Spring 2023. If you need help, please reach out with specific questions! Please know that earning a proficient Keystone score is required for graduation. More information about these requirements can be found below. CCA Highschool Graduation Pathways Genially (Press here for infographic) Important: If your child chooses a non-Keystone Exam pathway to satisfy Pennsylvania’s graduation requirements, he or she is still required to take the Keystone Exams for federal accountability purposes – your child’s performance on the Keystone Exams in no way affects his or her course grades or progress in satisfying Pennsylvania’s graduation requirements.

Most days, a Khan Academy assignment with about 4-5 questions will be available for you to practice after the lesson. This is just another tool for you to choose from to continue to learn from. Khan allows you to practice the skills, check your answers, and links hints or helpful short videos along the way. This is a great resource if you need a concept explained in a different way than I have explained it in class. If all the assignments for one Unit are completed, I use that as an option to earn bonus points on assessments. That's a WIN-WIN!! **Follow the link below to join our class!** Khan Academy Website; https://www.khanacademy.org/join/SVEQR69F Class Code: SVEQR69F

Tutoring I am available to help you! Please book tutoring as soon as you feel you need some additional help. I do ask that you have watched the lesson recording and come with specific questions. Book a tutoring time here

Calculator The calculator above is the one you will likely use on your Keystone Exam this Spring. I will be using this instead of Desmos during class to help you familiarize yourself with the buttons and basics. You are still welcome to use the Desmos calculators, but know you will not have access to Desmos when you take the Keystone Exam.

Guided Notes in OneNote OneNote is your one-stop shop to find ALL of the notes for Algebra 1. It is our virtual Notebook where I will keep and share ALL notes and resources with you. Once you have opened your Algebra 1 OneNote for the first time, you will have access to ALL of the guided notes and study guides for this class and will be able to use EVERYTHING there to help you while taking assessments in edio. OneNote will also have some extra practice worksheets and sometimes there will be some extra credit available in there! There will not always be practice worksheets and extra credit, but when there are they can be found in OneNote. HOW TO ACCESS ONENOTE To access our Class Notebook in OneNote:

  1. Go to the Resources tab in our class under Progress on the sidebar.
  2. Click on "Launch in New Window where you see the OneNote icon shown below.
  3. You will be guided to our Algebra I Guided Notebook (Mrs. Strunk 2023-2024) Class notebook.
Please let Mrs. Strunki know if you have any further concerns accessing OneNote as soon as possible. Once you have accessed OneNote from here, you can continue to access it from here or from the OneNote app on your computer! I strongly suggest using the OneNote for Windows 10 app on your computer. Please watch this video to learn how to find this app, pin it to your desktop, and access your notebook this way. Click here to access a Genially you can reference that is ALL about one note. Guided Notes and Study Guides Guided Notes and Study Guides are a great tool to use in Algebra 1! These can be found in OneNote and once they are completed, you may use them to help you while taking assessments in Algebra. Guided Notes:
  • The guided notes go directly along with the lesson in edio. For example, if the lesson being completed in edio today was 2.3.5, that means you should look at the Unit 2 Topic 3 Guided notes. All of the lessons for Unit 2 Topic 3 will be in that document.
Study Guides:
  • Study guides for quizzes and tests can be found in OneNote. The questions on these study guides are VERY SIMILAR to what you will see on a quiz or test. Once the study guide is filled out, you may reference it while taking the assessment it is for.
Students can use OneNote for anything they would do in a typical binder or notebook. Some of my suggestions are:
  • Print paper copies of notes to follow along with lessons
  • Take class notes in their personal student section
    • Significantly easier if they have a stylus and 2 monitors to watch and write at the same time
  • Work 1-on-1 with the teacher in a tutoring session
    • Can also use for async feedback if a student wants you to check some work
  • Complete any bonus work or corrections for teacher feedback
    • ALWAYS tell the teacher when finished as we will not be notified
Caretaker access to OneNote I love when caretakers engage in their student’s learning so I want you to have access to OneNote as well. This link, will allow you to view the Content Library. I put all copies of blank notes in the Content Library, as well as Helpful Resources, Bonus Opportunities, and Instructions for Assessment Corrections. Everything you or your student may need access to on a daily basis is there! If you would like to keep up with your student’s personal OneNote notebook so you can see if/how they are using it, please email me back and I can send you a personal link for your student. Again, this link will only allow you to view their work, not make changes, but it is still a great way for you to be involved this year!

Email: dstrunk@ccaeducate.me Phone: (484)656-7741 extension 12195 Edio chat: Please chat me in Edio! Book a meeting: Mrs. Strunk's Booking Link 📱 Edio Chat: Feel free to send me an Edio chat anytime! This is a great way to easily communicate with me. It is on the bottom left-hand corner when you are logged on in Edio. I will respond to chat messages as soon as possible as I may be in a live classroom session or working with another student. Ask me if you want to set up your phone to receive Edio chats as SMS texts. 📅 Bookings Link: CLICK HERE (to schedule a meeting or a tutoring session) 💻 Zoom Room: CLICK HERE (to enter our scheduled meeting) ** Keep in mind that we do need to be in contact outside of class. I keep a record of our contacts, so if I reach out to you, please respond ASAP to stay updated with important information and not fall behind. End of Quarter 1 I have tried to communicate and offer plans to catch up. Please look back through your email if you are behind for some suggestions.

  • Unit 1 ended on 9/26 and I suggested being caught up by 10/7
  • Unit 2 ended on 10/20 and I suggest being caught up by 10/31
The most effective way to catch up is to attend class at the scheduled time so you do not have to do edio lessons. Then do 1 or 2 extra overdue lessons each day until you are caught up. I will continue to chat, email, and call those of you who are not caught up. Please know, I do this out of wanting to see you succeed. I am here to help!

  2. If you have overdue projects, quizzes, or tests, do them ASAP! Use the reviews, your OneNote notes, and the recording of the reviews to help you as you take it!
  3. If you are failing, but have 0 overdue lessons, look over your assessment grades. Send me an edio chat asking to reset or correct the assessment with the lowest score.
  4. Book tutoring with me! If you need a link, send me a message.
