Substitution fall under the enhancement category. You start replacing standard tools in education with technological tools.

Redefinition is the last stage, this allows students the ability to create new things and participate in opportunities that they would not have been able to participate in without the technology.

In the augmentation stage students are using digital technology for learning purposes and other functional uses in the class.
Info
The SAMR Model is an effective tool that helps teachers and educators use technology in their everyday instruction

Students Giving PowerPoints
Students are starting to give powerpoint presentations in the classroom and this is a great example of a more functional way of using technology. Students are able to show their main points to the entire class clearly and the presentation gives a good visual of the students knowledge on the topic.

Zoom Calls
Using Zoom as a way to connect with one another is something that many students can recall from Covid-19. So, it is no surprise that it is a good resourse to connect with people who are not in close proximity to you whether you use it for educational or personal purposes. Using an online streaming service to connect to eachother provides you the chance to hold discussions and explore a different side of learning.
Got an idea?
Audio books are a good adjustment for students who have a hard time comprehending readings. Having the choice of audiobooks is a good technology tool rather than all books in the classroom.
Notebooks to Computers
Moving from notebooks to computers is a great example of substitution. Students can take more extensive notes on a computer. They are able to use different colors, BOLD TEXTS and highlights in a more organized manner, and they are able to go back and adjust to these notes as they move on.

Flip Grip
Using Flip Grip in the class is a good way to get the classroom connected and to get the students involved in eachother's works. They can reach out to one another and respond to one another's posts and they can also see what their peers have to say as well.
