Nature's intrinsic value

Some people believe that all / some elements of the natural environment have intrinsic value. They should be valued just because they exist. There are a number of countries which have given an equal right to nature in their constitutions, such as Equador and Bolivia. There is also a growing movement to give rivers the right to exist, including in USA.

Create your own concept map about EVS. Focus in the EVS that you identify the most with.

Let´s practice: What do they think?

1. Work by groups of three students.
2. Select randomly one of the different topics proposed by the teacher.
3. Research some information about the topic selected.
4. Choose two images where you can explain your topic selected.
5. In groups discuss how an Ecocentric, Anthropocentric and Technocentric EVS would think about this project. Complete a table comparing the the three EVSs using key words from the descriptions of these EVSs.
6. You will present a table as is shown in the example.
