*How did the Mughal court suggest that everyone – the rich and the poor, the powerful and the weak – received justice equally from the emperor? In this audio piece, I had a discussion with visitors at the Lal Quila. They expressed their understanding about the Mughal court justice and its removal from the CBSE syllabus followed by current political moves. Audio link- https://vimeo.com/845644332?share=copy

*Why do you think the history of the Mughal and sultanates has been omitted from our curriculum? And is there a connection between renaming the streets, locations, or buildings? Sohail Hashmi is a writer-filmmaker, who identifies himself as a history buff and heritage enthusiast. He is explaining about the cultural and political history of Delhi. He addressed how current politics is interfering with history of the city and school curriculum.
Delhi has been called : A city of seven sisters! We village kids used to gather to watch the Republic Day live broadcast on Doordarshan in Maharashtra. Every person of this country has a very emotional and socio - political connection with historical monuments such as Lal Quila. We used to be excited, and think that this city was far away but beautiful. I imagined this location with its historical landmarks in my mind. This city has a history that includes Mughal, Sultanate, and British colonial periods, and its monuments speaks that culture. Since the past few years major changes have been made with the history of this place through the changing names of the roads demolishing monuments, important building and now it has been reached out to the education. Since the past few years, CBSE removed important content from its syllabus. Which is about citizenship, demonetisation, important movements from caste and gender issues, and recently Mughal and Sultanate history. There was a hidden agenda to remove important movements from history. This eraser is followed by the hatred of Muslims. As an artist and educator, I am concerned of new generations who will be growing up with manipulated history. It is very serious concern, as in many schools, mostly caste Hindu (dominant caste) educators are teaching, and they are not at all bothered. These audiovisual pieces are part of the larger game, which will be a made for school children. Which can be teaching learning tool for teachers across the country.
