Types of Water in Poland
The Baltic Sea is known for its unique ecosystem and sandy beaches. Popular seaside destinations in Poland include Gdańsk, Sopot, and Świnoujście, attracting tourists with their vibrant coastal atmosphere.

Poland is blessed with a network of beautiful rivers that traverse its landscape. The country is home to major rivers such as the Vistula (Wisła), Oder (Odra)Warta, and Bug. These rivers provide essential water resources for various purposes, including agriculture, industry, and recreational activities.
02 Rivers
Poland boasts numerous breathtaking lakes, contributing to its natural beauty. The largest lake in Poland is Śniardwy Lake, located in the Masurian Lake District. Other famous lakes include Mamry Lake, Łebsko Lake, and Wigry Lake. These lakes offer opportunities for water sports, fishing, and relaxation in serene surroundings.

Groundwater plays a vital role in Poland's water supply. The country has significant aquifers that provide drinking water to many communities. Groundwater sources can be found in various geological formations, including deep wells and shallower sources. These underground reservoirs are carefully managed to ensure the availability of clean and safe drinking water.

What do Waterworks do? The main task of water and sewage companies is to collect water and, therefore, its purification. Since water naturally occurs in nature and is a good solvent, compounds and minerals contained in the earth's crust appear in it.
Slupsk waterworks
Every year, our school organizes competitions such as racing in a canoe during which all trashes should be collected that are found in the river. After the race, there is selected the winner (the person who has collected as much trashes in the least amount of time as possible). Of course, medals are given for the first, second, and third place. This is a good and funny solution to keep the water cleaner and spend a memorable time with classmates. We love to do activities like this one or sleepovers in our school.
What does our school do to protect the water environment?
Thank you!
