Low Risk VS. At-Risk Drinking

Up to 1 drink a day for women.
Up to 2 drinks a day for men.

Low-Risk "Moderate Drinking"

Men younger than 65 years are considered to have "at-risk drinking" when:

  • Drink more than 4 standard drinks in a day, or
  • Drink more than 14 drinks per week.

At-Risk Drinking

Women and men 65 years or older are considered to have "at-risk drinking" when:

  • Drink more than 4 standard drinks in a day, or
  • Drink more than 14 drinks per week.
