Robert Whittaker

He was an American ecologist who was the first person to divide living things into five kingdoms.

Fungi

  • Multicelular
  • Cells have a nucleus, but don't have cell wall or choloroplasts.
  • feed on organic substances made by other living organisms,

ANIMALSCHARACTERISTICS

  • Multicelular
  • Cells have a nucleus, cell wall are made of cellulose and often contain choloroplasts.
  • Feed by photosynthesis.
  • May have roots, stems and leaves.

PLANTSCHARACTERISTICS

  • Usualy Multicelular
  • Have Nuclei
  • Have cell walls, are not made of cellulose.
  • Do not have cholorophyll.
  • Feed by saprophytic or parasitic nutrition.

FUNGI CHARACTERISTICS

  • Multicelular or Unicelular.
  • Cells have a nucleus.
  • Cells may or may not have a cell wall and chloroplasts.
  • Some feed by photosynthesis and others feed on organic substances made by other organisms.

PROTOCTISTA CHARACTERISTICS

  • Often unicelular
  • Have no Nucleus
  • Have cell walls, are not made of cellulose.
  • Have no mitochondria.

PROKARYOTES CHARACTERISTICS

SOME EXAMPLES

Did you know that starfish don't hava brain? Aquatic animals don't need a brain or heart to survive.

CURIOUS DATA

Did you know that nemo's house is not a plant? It is an ANEMONA that belongs to animal kingdom like him.

Did you know that fungi were classified in plants kingdoms?Because they where in the ground like some plants.

CLASIFIED IN 5 KINGDOMS IT IS IMPORTANT FOR SCIENTISTS TO MAKE IT EASIER TO STUDY AND KNOW MORE ABOUT BIOLOGY
