Personal changes: ( Alonso-Rodriguez et al., 2021) • Convenience - Eliminating the need to drive. - Reduce the stress. - Enhance the travel experience. •Improved accessibility - Towards more autonomy for people with disabilities Social changes: (Stoma, Dudziak, Caban & Droździel, 2021) • Traffic improvement - improvement of road traffic. - Reduction of accidents • Greater environmental sustainability - lower fuels cost - reduction climate change. What are the disadvantages of an autonomous car and to what extent does the autonmous car have an impact?
• Impact on health : - Reducing cheap transportation such as waling, biking and public transport use. • Impact on the environment - society: (Czech, Turo & Barcik, 2018) - Environmental pollution during the implementation of the autonomous car. - job displacement. (Ferdowsi et al., 2017) • Safety risks: (Karnouskos & Kerschbaum, 2017) - risk of system failure. - cybersecurity risks ( Computer system hacking).
The advantages could surpass the disadvantages, depending on:- technological advancements - regulations - public support - sufficient infrastructure
• Environmental Considerations: Optimisation routes, reduced congestion, and improvement of fuel efficiency in areas where pollution and greenhouse gas emissions are significant concerns. (Pettersson and Karlsson (2015)
Conclusion:
Accessibility and Mobility Needs: improve accessibility and mobility for individuals who are unable to drive due to age, disabilities, or other reasons (Beggiato, 2020).
